Minimal emotional language, just sober presentation of the facts. Let the reader decide what these facts mean.

Focus on total numbers and percentages of animals in the situations described. Too many articles about animals in factory farms focus on specific bad practices without making it clear how common the practices are or how many animals they’re affecting.

No gruesome images of factory farms

These 3 rules dont make sense to me and i wonder if you still hold them.

i think that ppl like benthams bulldog have been very successful in 'radicalizing' people (including me) towards animal-advocacy thru exactly the use of strong moral language, vivid bad practices, and the ocassional image/video.

I think confronting ppl with strong emotions and gruesome imagery can be really powerful, perhaps not your personal style/audience.

I recall throughout my life that stuff like PETA footage or Peter Singer's descriptions of animal abuse were extremely impactful to me.

I suppose I might be more emotional than the audience you're trying to reach.
